Help

The Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) developed this eBookshop as part of an ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and convenient service to customers - within Australia and across the world. This eBookshop hosts geoscience products released by the Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA). Generic DEMIRS publications, including strategic policy documents, are listed on the DEMIRS website.

You can view, download and print free PDFs of all books, articles and maps. The VIEW PDF icon in eBookshop links to the PDF in the online catalogue. For data packages, the link is to a PDF that describes the content and coverage of the package. GIS files (ESRI and MAPINFO formats) for maps published since 1991 are available as a free download from the Data and Software Centre, and links to these files are provided on the details page for maps. For some publications, eBookshop has links to downloadable geochemical and geophysical data, and to zipped files in the online catalogue.

Advanced search
The advanced search option allows you to locate items by inputting search terms into the boxes. The advanced search will search all metadata for terms entered into the keywords section of the form.

How do I purchase an item?
After browsing or searching for the product(s) you require, you can add them to the shopping basket using the 'Add to cart' option listed to the right of the information. When you have added all the items you require to the shopping cart, go to ‘Checkout' and enter your shipping details (to whom and where the product is to be sent) in the form displayed. When the form has been correctly filled out, you can ‘Make payment'. You will then be prompted to fill out your credit card details. Please note that we can only accept payment on Visa or Mastercard. We ask you to provide your email address so that we can confirm receipt of your order.

How do I change the quantity I want to purchase?
After adding an item to your shopping basket, you can increase or reduce the quantity you purchase by changing the quantity shown in the shopping cart. Entering zero will remove that item from your shopping list. The new total cost of the purchase will be calculated automatically. Then go to ‘Checkout'.

Will you print maps for me?
We no longer print maps for individual customers. For selected maps of the current year such as Major resource projects and Mines - operating and under development, you can order a hard copy for a period of time. A price will show on the eBookshop entry for the product and you can order it via the shopping cart as usual. If there is no price listed on the eBookshop entry for the product, you can download and get the product printed yourself if desired.

Are my credit card details secured?
Yes, all credit card and personal details are secure. They cannot be seen or modified by anyone other than you.

How do I return an item?
If you are not satisfied with a product, or you ordered the wrong product, you can return it to us so long as it is still in good condition. You should include a copy of the receipt you received with the item when you return it. We will then provide you with a refund by cheque.

How long will my delivery take?
All deliveries are sent air mail where available. The maximum delivery time anywhere in the world is usually two weeks. In most cases, Australian customers can expect to receive their deliveries within three working days.

What if my order never arrives?
If your order does not arrive within two weeks of purchasing online, please contact the Mining Information Centre at Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety via email or by calling +618 9222 3459 for overseas orders and (08) 9222 3459 for Australian orders. Please have your receipt ready to help us track your order.

What if my goods have been damaged?
